Cab Wins big at State Vex Competition!

Cab and Charter teaming up!

On Saturday March 11th 20 different teams competed in a Vex Robotics Competition at Wesley College for a state tournament. Cab’s Vex Robotics team, consisting of both Cab and Charter students placed first in the state! The winning robot design consisted of picking up 1 foot wide jacks and heavier beanbags, then placing them on the opposing teams side. Students applied mechanical engineering and programming concepts to complete the design. The top 3 teams are invited to go to the Vex World Competition in Louisville Kentucky in mid April. 

These students are also part of my TSA Team and will be competing at the TSA state Vex competition in late April.

Cab Science Olympiad Teams Win Big!

Way to go Cab SCIENCE Department!

Cab Calloway sent two teams of high school students to compete at the fortieth annual Science Olympiad at DSU in Dover this past Saturday. Sixty teams from all over the state (almost one thousand students total) competed in twenty three different events testing students STEM skills. We are proud to announce that our teams finished third and fourth in the state! This marks the highest ranking that we’ve had to date.

Cab Students Win Many Awards at BPA State Conference!

20 students can attend the national conference in Orlando, FL

Last night, the Cab Calloway Middle School BPA Chapter achieved great success at the 2017 Delaware Business Professionals of America State Leadership Conference by placing 20 students nationally with 2 team event and 4 individual event first place winners.

The results are as follows:

  • Cab swept the Graphic Design category! with 1st place going to Matt E., 2nd place going to Claire A., and 3rd place going to Emma R.
  • Sudha A., Marlayna C., Neha D. and Nicole H. placed 1st in Video Production Team Event
  • Alexandria H., Sydney R., Rayne S. and Mikayla S. placed 1st in Presentation Management Team Event
  • Ashley B. placed 1st in Prepared Speech, 2nd in Spreadsheet Production and 2nd in Business Fundamentals
  • Pranav P. placed 1st in Entrepreneurship Exploration and 1st in Computer Literacy
  • Mia X., Jillian F., Emma R. and Atharva S. placed 2nd in Administrative Services Team Event, Atharva S. also placed 2nd in Computer Literacy
  • Matt E., Julia K., Jennifer K. and Robert O. placed 2nd in Web Site Design Team Event
  • Arundhati D. placed 4th in Business Math

These students now have the opportunity to attend the National Leadership Conference in Orlando, Florida from May 9th to 14th.
