P4 Helps Refugees

The global humanitarian support club, P4, organized a donation drive in Oct. 2016

CCSA’s global humanitarian support club, P4, organized a donation drive in October 2016 of coats, bedding, clothing and personal hygiene items and toys for Syrian refugees in camps along the Turkish border, who are among the 13.5 million displaced persons requiring humanitarian assistance (identified by the UN in 2016) because of the war.  Your generosity filled the back wall of the lobby; and P4 helped to fill a container that went on a cargo ship to Turkey on Halloween.  We got word when it arrived in Turkey, toward the end of 2016, and then it traveled with a vetted Turkish charity to the border with Syria.  In March of 2017, we received photos of people receiving items, including one little child in a pink hat that we recognized as coming from Delaware.  It’s always hard to know if one’s good efforts are received as we intend, and the pink hat confirmation was great to see.  P4 is a high school club that meets in school during lunch and plans out projects through the year.

Contact the advisor, Ms. Badger (the piano teacher), at [email protected] for more information.
