On Thursday, September 22nd, 110 Cab Calloway High School sophomores journeyed to Cape Henlopen State Park for a two day Biology Immersion trip. Students were exposed to a vast array plants and animals. Additionally, the students took part in a variety of different activities on the first day, such as Bird Watching and Wild Edibles. The evening concluded with a campfire and dancing to Funky Friday (WXPN) ironically on a Thursday!
Early the next morning, 6:00 AM arrived quickly for many students who chose to take part in the dreaded Polar Bear Plunge! Many fun filled activities were experienced by attendees on the second day of the trip, including Geocaching, Collecting Plankton, and Insect Studies. The Mudflats activity proved to be a favorite, where students sifted through mud samples finding life teeming in these murky depths. Students discovered animals including Snails and Hermit crabs. Truly an enlightening and fun filled trip for all participants!
Thanks to Mr. Kafader and Mr. Rigby for putting on an awesome trip!
