The first exhibition of the school year in the CCSA Fines Arts Gallery is the 2018 Delaware Individual Artist Fellows exhibition.

The opening reception is Friday September 7 from 5:00PM-7:00PM.

Delaware’s Individual Artist Fellowships recognize artists for their outstanding quality of work and provide monetary awards. Individual Artist Fellows are publicly acknowledged and benefit from the additional exposure to their work. Fellows are required to showcase their work in a public exhibition or performance, so we’ve set up a special section on DelawareScene.com for you to experience their work.

This year, the Division received work samples from 124 Delaware choreographers, composers, musicians, writers, folk and visual artists were reviewed by out-of-state arts professionals, considering demonstrated creativity and skill in their art form. The 17 selected fellows reside throughout Delaware including Hockessin, Lewes, Newark, Rehoboth Beach, and Wilmington.

Meet the Artist Fellows

Join us for the annual Award Winners exhibition, a group show featuring the 2018 Individual Artist Fellows from now through August 26 at CAMP Rehoboth. Award Winners will then travel to its final destination, Cab Calloway School of the Arts starting in September.

We invite you to the Wilmington reception and award ceremony on Friday, September 7 at 5 p.m. where you can meet the artist fellows and experience their work.

From Tuesday, May 8 thru Sunday, May 13, seventeen Cab Calloway School of the Arts 7th and 8th grade students attended the 2018 Business Professionals of America National Leadership Conference in Dallas, Texas.  All 17 students in attendance achieved either a top 1 or 2 finalists in at least one of the many diverse competitions.

Results as follows:

• Marissa J., Emily L., Giada M., Delanie M. placed 1^st in Presentation Management Team
• Mia X. placed 1^st and Claire A. placed 2^nd in Graphic Design Promotion
• Ava B. placed 1st and Claire A. was a top 10 finalist in Extemporaneous Speech
• Alexandria H. placed 1^st in Prepared Speech
• Andrew I., Kimberly B., Ava B. and Rishi M. placed 2nd in Introduction to Video Production Team
• Ashley B., Arundhati D., Alexandria H. and Mia X. placed 2nd in Web Site Design Team
• Jack W. placed 2^nd, Arundhati D. placed 3^rd in Financial Literacy
• Ashley B. placed 1st, Arundhati D. and Claire A. were top 10 finalists in Business Fundamentals Concepts
• Ashley B. placed 1^st and Claire A. was a top 10 finalist in Business Math Concepts
• Jack W. placed 3^rd, Arundhati D. and Ashley B. were top 10 finalists in Computer Literacy Concepts
• Arundhati D. was a top 10 finalist in Business Communication Skills Concepts

Students are led by their business teacher and BPA Advisor Mr. Sverrir Georgsson, co-advisor Angi Barker and volunteer coach Sarah Barker. We thank all who have participated and made the BPA chapter such a great success this year!
