ANTHONY GRAY-BOLDEN
DEAN
Dean Anthony Bolden is a visionary leader entering his fourth year at Cab Calloway School of the Arts, bringing 24 years of experience in education. His leadership is marked by a steadfast commitment to fostering a sense of belonging and empowerment within the transformative realm of performing arts. Dean Bolden is dedicated to advancing innovative arts education that meets the diverse needs of students, ensuring they have the tools to excel both artistically and academically.
A proud alumnus of the Girard Academic Music Program, a performing arts magnet school in Philadelphia, PA, Dean Bolden’s early education was shaped by the integration of academic rigor and musical excellence. As a vocal major and Double Bass musician, he enjoyed amazing experiences including performances with the Philadelphia Orchestra and Philadelphia Singers. His performances at iconic venues like Notre Dame Cathedral in Montreal and the Philadelphia Art Museum underscore his deep-rooted understanding of the value of an art-infused education.
Dean Bolden continued his academic journey on an athletic scholarship at West Chester University, earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice. His professional basketball career in the Eastern Basketball Association and induction into the WCU Basketball Hall of Fame reflect his diverse talents and commitment to excellence. He earned a K-12 Special Education Certificate from Immaculata College, a Master of Education Degree in Curriculum Instruction from Penn State University, and an Educational Leadership Certification, along with an advanced degree from Liberty University. Currently, he is pursuing a Doctorate of Education (Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership, underscoring his dedication to lifelong learning and advancing the field of education.
In his extensive career, Dean Bolden has taught four content areas as a Special Education teacher, served as a Dean of Students, and held leadership roles as an Assistant Principal and Principal. His work at Cab Calloway is further enriched by his completion of The Accelerating Innovation in Education Fellowship offered by the University of Delaware Horn Entrepreneurship program, which aims to create a collaborative and supportive learning environment where educators can exchange ideas and best practices.
Dean Bolden is an active contributor to the Arts School Network as a Board of directors and a passionate advocate for increased accessibility to arts education. His vision for CCSA includes normalizing opportunities for creators as entrepreneurs and elevating the existing programming to provide robust art integration experiences that will prepare our students for global impact.
Beyond his professional life, Dean Bolden enjoys spending time with his wife and three sons. His hobbies include deep-sea fishing, playing the piano, singing, and solving puzzles. Recently, he has taken up bird watching, adding another layer to his diverse interests.

DENISE WARSHANY
ASSISTANT DEAN
Dr. Denise Warshany, now in her fourth year at Cab Calloway School of the Arts, has played a pivotal role in advancing the school’s mission through her strong leadership and strategic planning skills. A graduate of a performing arts high school in New Jersey, where she majored in Dance, Dr. Warshany is a passionate advocate for the arts in education.
Denise holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a focus on Business and Technical Writing from the University of Delaware, as well as both a Master of Education in School Leadership and a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Wilmington University. Her career began in business development and marketing within the technology and entertainment sectors, but her calling to education led her to teaching and leadership roles. After a decade in the Colonial School District, she spent seven years in leadership at Odyssey Charter School before joining Cab Calloway.
Denise resides in Newark with her two children and two dogs. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, reading, and spending time at the beach. Her dedication to both her professional and personal passions makes her a valuable member of the Cab Calloway School of the Arts community.

Mr. Fran Gregor earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Bloomsburg University before pursuing a Master of Education at Wilmington College. He began his teaching career in 2004 at Skyline Middle School as a 7th grade mathematics teacher, where he also held various leadership roles and coached the wrestling team. After two seasons of coaching varsity football at the newly reimagined Conrad Schools of Science, Mr. Gregor transitioned to teaching 8th grade math at Conrad while continuing to coach football and wrestling. He completed his Educational Leadership Certification at Wilmington University in 2014. From 2022 to 2024, he served as Conrad’s Student Advisor. Mr. Gregor resides in Newark with his wife and two daughters. In his free time, he enjoys exercising, cooking, and spending time with his family.

Pia Cooper, in her second year as Student Advisor at Cab Calloway School of the Arts, continues to make a significant impact on Student Life. With her Delaware state certification as a School Counselor and her background as a Social Studies teacher, Pia has seamlessly integrated her program management and administrative expertise into our school community. She is particularly dedicated to promoting inclusion and diversity, drawing on her training in ACE, crisis management, and Restorative Practices to foster a supportive environment for all students.
Pia’s role at Cab Calloway includes the continued implementation of the World of Difference Institute Peer Training, where she plays a crucial part in empowering students to become leaders in promoting respect and understanding among their peers. Her work in this area reflects her deep commitment to creating a positive and inclusive school culture.
With an M.Ed. in Education, and School Counseling from Wilmington University and a BA in English Language and Literature from the University of Maryland, Pia brings a strong academic foundation to her role. Her previous experience, including her work as a Certified K-8 Elementary School Counselor and Director of Graduate Support, has equipped her with the skills and insight needed to address the diverse needs of our students. Pia’s dedication to student well-being and her ability to build strong relationships make her an invaluable asset to the Cab Calloway School of the Arts community.
